One Shot is a new performance exploring the politics of creativity through the films of Stanley Kubrick.
Travelling across genres and historical contexts, One Shot pits two bodies against recorded images in a battle for creative control. It examines the gender and class politics of artistic risk, challenging and re-framing implicit standards of success, permission, and autonomy. In a space between the physical and the digital, it asks what it means to take creative risks in a society where most are only granted one shot.
